Special events were held at Jamyang Choling Instutite during the month of Saka Dawa celebrating Shakyamuni Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and parinirvana.
The nuns at Jamyang Choling Institute read the entire Tibetan Buddhist Holy Scriptures - the Kangyur - collection of the Buddha's words and also performed other special meritorious prayers from 26th to 31st May, 2026 in dedication for world peace and for all sentient beings to be free from suffering and attain enlightenment. Along with this, the monastics also performed an offering of cleansing incense ritual called Sang offering to remove and clear away negativities and bring auspiciousness. We hope these practice will be a small ripple in the world in bringing about peace, wisdom and compassion. May we always earnestly put the Buddha’s teachings into practice in our lives for the temporal and ultimate happiness of all sentient beings.
