Brief Biography, My name is Karma Wangmo and I was born in eastern part of Bhutan called Trashi Yangtse. My late parents were both farmer and I am the youngest from the three siblings.
From the young age I was fond of religious activity and always wanted to become a nun but being in a remote village we didn’t have any monastery for nuns except for monks. So, in 2000 I came to India with one of my relative, joined at Karma Drugye Dargeling as nun and stayed there for two years.
I joined Jamyang Choling nunnery in 2003 and since then the monastery have been my home where I get to know all other colleagues and got teachings from great teachers. The blessing from our root guru, his Holliness 14th Dalai Lama, have always guided my path towards achieving my wish of becoming a good nun. Living here for 23 years gave me lots experiences, responsibilities and blessings too which made me the person I am today with knowledge and experiences which I didn’t have before. Seeing my senior nuns entitled as Geshema with a degree inspired me to become on of them so, in the year 2021 I also began to prepare for it. After years of dedicated study, debate and examination I completed my degree in 2025 as the second badge of Geshemas.
Today I feel accomplished after being able to fulfil my wish and I extend my heartful gratitude to my root guru his Holiness Dalai Lama for the blessings and guidance through my journey. I am grateful to all my great teachers, family and friends for supporting and guiding me throughout. May I be helpful to all and my prayers reach to all sentient beings.
Thankyou.
